TALL TALES FESTIVAL ALUMNI DINNER

OVER 50
ATTEND ALUMNI GATHERING

This years event was filled with contestants hoping to join the exclusive alumni of winners.

Over 50 winners of years past gathered for the catered alumni dinner and week long parties at the Flora Dell Day Spa located in downtown Bagnell, Oregon.

The alumni and their invited guests were treated to all the luxury they could handle including a day at the swimmin' hole in the ice cold waters of Lobster Creek.

Several banquets were held at the all inclusive resort that served Chinook Salmon, fresh caught crab and all the catfish & carp pizza one could want.

All liquid refreshments for the alumni were supplied by: Bagnell B.O.O.B.S.
"Brewing Oregons Original Beer & Spirits".

The staff of the Tall Tales Gazette was given carte-blanche to all the gatherings and unlimited access for interviews of past winners.

Overheard from many of the past winners were remarks such as,

"Winning the Hathaway Jones Tall Tales Festival really changed my life, I was even asked to host a nationally syndicated television talent show."

"My life will never be the same again, winning the Tall Tales Festival was better than when I won the 'Naked in Bagnell' Grand prize."

"I still haven't spent all the money, people are still giving me free dinners and I haven't had to pay for gas since winning the contest three years ago."

"I love being treated like a celebrity, the Hathaway Jones Traveling Trophy, sat on my desk at work for the entire year, and no one even commented on either of my Oscars they were so impressed with the splendor of the Tall Tales award."

"I have been asked to mentor several of the college students in my home town since winning the Festival. The students have a burning desire to become the next great Hathaway Jones Tall Tales Festival event champion."

"My year with the Traveling Trophy was better than I could have imagined. It sat on my dressing table in my master suite. My husband said it turned him on to know he was spooning with the likes of me, a winner."

"I am so greatful to be among such an elite group. And the prize money let me help so many people."

Future articles in the Gazette will detail how life has changed for these talented people since winning the competition.
